Zachary Johnson is a 2020 C/OF with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Omaha, NE who attends Millard North. Long, lanky build with present athleticism. Ran a 7.28 second sixty-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. Employs an even start with confident receiving actions. Displayed good footwork gaining ground well from behind the plate. Showed clean transfers into throws with developing arm strength and accurate carry to second base topping out at 72 mph and posting a 2.03 second pop time during defensive workouts. Right handed hitter. Employs a narrow, upright stance. Utilizes a rotational pull side approach with a naturally elevated barrel plane looking to drive line drives and fly balls to and through the gaps in the outfield. Displayed the ability to create bat speed with some barrel control creating loud contact to the middle and pull sides of the filed when on time and squared. Excellent student.
