Sam Lawson is a 2023 RHP/3B/UT with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Raleigh, NC who attends Sanderson. Strong athletic build, especially for his age. Over the top arm action with big downhill plane on his pitches, maintains his tempo and balance well in his delivery, repeated his mechanics well. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, has good late sinking and running life, has the ability to work to spots with his fastball. Curveball showed good 12/6 downer shape and sharpness and was a solid second pitch. Mixes well and attacks the strike zone with mature pitchability. Right handed hitter, hits from a hanging front leg load with a big barrel wrap to start his swing, aggressive attacking the ball and is on plane well, has the strength to get some jump off the barrel. 7.50 runner. Good student.
