Urias is a tall Left-hander from California with a plus pitchers build and good arm action. He threw from a high 3/4 arm slot almost overhand and got a good downward plane on the ball. He had trouble repeating his delivery at the beginning of the game, but settled down and battled back to get batters out to end the inning. His fastball was in the 80-82 mph range, touching 83 and 84. His curveball was from 69-72 mph, a good 12-6 type that was difficult to hit. He even flashed a 70 mph change-up that was interesting and we would liked to have seen more of it, but in any case, we know he has the makings of a good one. He never did gain consistent control of any of his pitches, but for a less than dominant statistical day, Urias sure did show that he has the potential to be a good one. One to watch closely.
