Andres Cortes is a 2023 C/3B with a 5-8 165 lb. frame from Palm Harbor, FL who attends Calvary Christian. Compact strong build, especially in the lower half. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow start with a high back elbow load, keeps his approach simple and on time, has strong hands with an upper body driven swing, hits under control and confident with mainly pull line drive contact. Primary catcher on defense, has good fundamental footwork throwing and blocking, anticipates well in all his actions, makes accurate throws from a good balanced base. Also played the infield with the same strong fundamentals and sound base to throw from, probably best at second base or third base. Good student.
