Gavin Piechota is a 2023 3B/RHP with a 5-7 110 lb. frame from Long Beach, CA who attends Long Beach Wilson. Medium build with room to fill out and strengthen as he continues to develop. Primary infielder, fields out in front and shows some softness with the glove. Still developing fluid actions on the move. On the mound, has a short arm action from a three-quarters slot. Very simple motion with a straight up and down leg lift and good direction down the hill. He hunches over slightly at the top of his lift. Fastball up to 93, mixes in a 66 mph curveball as well. At the plate, uses an upright stance with a hanging leg kick trigger and a higher handset. Flat barrel plane through the zone creates consistent line drive contact. Middle to pull side approach. Excellent student in the classroom as well.
