Orlando Olvera is a 2022 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Detroit, MI who attends De La Salle Collegiate. Large frame with a lean, slender type build showing room to fill out the frame physically. Ran a 7.53 second sixty yard dash. Primary Left-Handed Pitcher, working exclusively out of the stretch as he was balanced throughout the delivery. Medium to full arm circle in the back before delivering from a three-quarter slot. Feel showing for a two pitch mix as he went right after opposing bats while mixing up pitches. Fastball up to 77 mph and mixed in a tight spinning breaking ball in the upper-60's that proved to be his out pitch. Flashed signs of more velocity in the tank when he adds strength to the frame. Secondary First Baseman, sitting back on the baseball before gathering out front. Feel showing for the glove as he scoops it up before shuffling into throws. Released from a lower slot as he was accurate to the bag. Secondary Outfielder, working into the baseball showing efficient routes as he gathers to the side. Shuffles into transfers and then released with intent. Accurate around the bag as he threw it 76 mph. Left-Handed Hitter, starting even with an open front side. Toe tap to a stride as the hands stay deep. Linear swing path as he looked to let the baseball get deep before driving it the other way. Outstanding Student.
