Fabian E. Dumey is a 2020 C/OF with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Isabela, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. Medium athletic build with good present strength. 7.04 runner, plays both outfield and catcher. Has simple and repeatable actions behind the plate, good footwork, stays low and compact receiving the ball, has arm strength from an over the top release point. Longer over the top arm action from the outfield, is athletic through the ball, makes accurate on line throws. Right handed hitter, upper body swing with a limited lower half shift into contact, keeps is mechanics and timing approach, short contact oriented swing, has the strength to swing harder and generate additional bat speed. Also pitched, has an easy and smooth athletic delivery, throws from a high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 82 mph with some arm side life at times. Short breaking curveball he lands for strikes, attacks the zone and works quickly. Good student. Named to the Sunshine East Showcase Top Prospect List.
