2019 14U Sunshine West Showcase
Trace Franco is a 2024 C/MIF with a 5-2 95 lb. frame from St George, UT who attends Dixie. Compact, young build with room to fill out. Ran a 8.50 second sixty-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. Employs a low side saddle stance with confident receiving actions. Displayed upright actions with good footwork gaining ground well from behind the plate. Showed clean transfers into throws with developing arm strength topping out at 53 MPH and posting a 2.80 second pop time from behind the plate. Also worked out in the infield. Showed low actions working to and through the baseball in the infield. Flashed deeper funnels with confident glove actions and quicker transfers into throws with developing arm strength topping out at 58 MPH across the infield. Right handed hitter. Employs a spread even stance with a linear weight shift into contact. Displayed a line drive barrel plane with a direct hand path to and through the baseball. Utilizes a middle of the field line drive approach creating consistent line drives to the middle of the field during batting practice. Will add power with added strength and maturity.
