Tre Blankenship is a 2024 OF/MIF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Tazewell, VA who attends Tazewell High School. Medium current frame with good muscular development, athletic movements and plenty of time to add on. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.41 seconds. Primary position OF, showing good hop in his step and working through the ball well in his routes. One hand gather with his glove off to the side, using a one hand gather to the midline. Accurate throws with emerging arm strength generating solid throws up to 78 mph. Secondary IF, sitting back a bit and working methodically to the ball. Glove work is smooth and accurate to a midline, quick transfer in to longer arm action. Some carry across the diamond on throws with a peak velocity of 74 mph. Switch hitter, using inline stance from the left side. High hand set with a knee lift trigger to stride. Linear bat path, in and out of the zone quickly. Similar setup from the right side with a little more length in the swing. Shows good hand strength from this side, did rollover a bit but when on plane showed nice line drive contact. Outstanding performer in the classroom as well.
