Jamarkus Jefferson is a 2023 RHP/1B, 3B, SS, OF with a 5-7 160 lb. frame from Century, FL who attends Northview. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.75 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, big rock step at start of delivery leading into a high leg lift, hands raise in unison, full and on line arm action through the back working to a higher, extended three-quarters release point. Shows quickness to arm, fastball topped out at 74 mph with riding life up in the zone, induced ground ball contact when working down in the zone. Tight spin to curveball with 12-6 shape, able to land it for strikes to either side of the plate and creates short depth up to 66 mph. Similar long and loose arm action in the outfield, upper body dominant release, fields out front with two hands and bend at waist, developing actions. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow in the box; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing and loads hands back at start of swing. Keeps hands inside the ball throughout swing, works on a linear swing path, generates nice bat speed through the zone and can continue to unlock additional strength off the barrel with extension out front.
