JJ Moran is a 2024 SS/3B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Carlsbad, CA who attends Santa Fe Christian Schools. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean and projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.20 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well on feet and shows athleticism, glove skills play and shows some snatch at the ball, clean arm action on a lower slot with good carry across the diamond, shows range to either side. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open and bent knee stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; strides closed moving into contact. Shows nice hand quickness in swing and gets the barrel through the zone well, shows carry off the barrel when squared. Sees the zone nicely and can spoil tough pitches, looks to lift at point of contact, has present tools that project well moving forward with added strength. Excellent student. Named to the 14u Southwest Top Prospect List.
