2019 Pitcher/Catcher Showcase
Thomas Ritt is a 2020 RHP/1B with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Hastings, MN who attends Hastings HS. Extra large frame with a projectable body on the mound. Primary righthanded pitcher with a short side step delivery from the first base side of the rubber and into a high leg lift. Lands in line to the plate with a long stride down the mound. Hips coil at the gather and utilizes drop and drive actions to release. Fluidity to arm action into a three-quarter release. Creates arm side run on the fastball and will work in the upper half of the zone topping out at 82 miles per hour. Curveball shows depth through an 11-to-5 shape with tightness to spin. Also flashed a changeup with sharp sinking action. Righthanded hitter with a slightly open stance and leg lift trigger for timing. Works to the opposite field with consistency. Will create hard line drive contact off the barrel. Rotational shifts into contact. Very good student as well.
