Justin Hanson is a 2021 1B/LHP with a 6-3 167 lb. frame from Flagstaff, AZ who attends Flagstaff HS. Tall and very projectable young build, athletic look. Left handed hitter, hits from a tall upright stance, gets out to his front side early, upper body arm generated swing, full extension at contact, will benefit from more physical strength and more lower half involvement in his swing. 7.93 runner, shows a smooth and easy arm at first base defensively, good target for throws, can work to soften hands. Also pitched, has more potential at present on the mound. High 3/4's arm slot creates good angle to the plate, compact arm stroke in back hides the ball well, high leg lift delivery, short stride out front can be lengthened. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, gets his fastball to both sides of the plate when he keeps his arm slot on top. Good bet to keep increasing velocity as he gets more physically mature. Did not observe a secondary pitch.
