Jeffrey Hedlund is a 2021 OF/LHP with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Palatine, IL who attends Palatine. Recorded a 6.86 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium frame with plenty of room to mature and add strength. Primary outfielder with a fundamentally sound defensive skill set, works into and through the ball with smooth, fluid steps, gaining momentum into a loose arm action. Recorded throws up to 81 mph in drills with accuracy and carry present. Secondary left-handed pitcher with a simple operation and ability to command both sides of the plate with his full arsenal. Uses a short side-step rocker to get into a slightly coiled leg lift, working into an online over-the-top arm slot. Fastball worked in the mid-to-upper 60s, topping out at 69 mph and using his natural movement to induce weak contact and frequent mis-hits from hitters. Mixed in a slower curveball that varied in shape depending on the arm speed, causing empty awkward swings throughout his outing. Switch-hitter with similar attributes from both sides of the plate, middle of the field approach with rotational lower half mechanics and intent through contact. Gamer mentality who runs well and is aggressive on the base paths. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and added strength. Excellent Student.
