Matthew Tarr is a 2022 C/3B with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from North Aurora, IL who attends West Aurora. Medium athletic build, has some present strength, especially in the lower half, for a freshman with plenty more to come. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight spread stance, has a fluid swing through the zone with some present bat speed, has lift and extension out front, solid present mechanics and barrel skills, hits to all fields, projects well as a hitter as he physically matures. 7.66 runner, has good lower half flexibility and athleticism behind the plate, sets up low and quiet, has better footwork gaining ground throwing than moving side to side at present, will learn with repetitions, shows good arm strength with some carry on his throws. Also plays third base with good athleticism and soft hands out front. Very good student.
