Gabe Faust is a 2021 MIF/UT with a 5-8 135 lb. frame from Flagstaff, AZ who attends Flagstaff HS. Developing build with plenty of room to grow and fill out as he continues to progress. Primary infielder, is aggressive with his reads off the bat and gets to a spot quickly. Fields out in front, backhand glove work is crisp and efficient. Overall fielding actions are good, throws with a short arm action from a lower slot. Still developing consistency with his throwing motion across the diamond. On the mound, has a similar shorter arm action from a high three-quarters slot. Simple mechanics that work in line down the hill. Fastball up to 71 mph, mixes in a high 11-to-5 shaped breaking ball with some depth to it. At the plate, uses a tall and slightly open stance with a simple stride trigger. Will get out on his front side at times but his hands work well when he's able to stay balanced throughout. Active lower half with good pop to his pull side when barreled. Flat barrel path through the zone, present barrel control. Good student in the classroom as well.
