2021 March Northern CA Workout Camp Sunday
Jason Olvera is a 2024 RHP/3B with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Walnut Creek, CA who attends Northgate. Long and lean frame with plenty of room to fill out. Ran a 7.82 second 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, stays compact and in line with his delivery while using his lower half well. Longer arm stroke to release but shows excellent arm speed through a three-quarters slot that generates some life to the fastball. Shows strong feel for a quality changeup that fades hard down to the arm side and shows good components on the curveball with late bite and quality spin. Also worked out in the infield, works under the ball well with good range to the middle of the field and a loose arm that allows him to throw well on the move. Right-handed hitter, works with some length through the zone on a lifted path and shows comfort producing to the middle of the field with some flashes of strength off impact. Very good student.
