Tristen Nichols is a 2020 C/1B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Black Diamond, WA who attends Enumclaw HS. Medium frame with some physicality present. Ran a 7.56 second 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, sets up with a wide side saddle position behind the plate, moves out of his crouch with a short stride into release, some ground gained into throws but could could more with a more narrow set to improve quickness and pop time, longer arm stroke through the back, throws show carry and accuracy to second base, 2.03 second best pop time. Righthanded hitter, sets up with a spread out and high hand set stance at the plate, creates a downhill swing plane, shift some into contact with some strength off of the barrel when on time, displayed pop to both gaps when squared, gapped line drive approach. Great student.
