Corbin Ellis is a 2020 OF/RHP with a 6-4 198 lb. frame from Placentia, CA who attends El Dorado. Primary outfielder with a tall and athletic frame. Developing footwork and approach to the ball with a strong arm and short, quick arm action up to 84 miles per hour. Stops momentum some at release, recoiling arm back toward body. Upright and even stance at the plate with a simple leg lift trigger and rotational lower half. Developing consistency in the lower half, with the present bat speed and quick hands doing most of the work in the swing. Has a naturally leveraged barrel plane, power projects as the lower half is used more. Secondary pitcher with a quick and efficient delivery. Shorter stride down the mound with short, quick arm action from a three-quarters slot. Flashes plus sink and run to the fastball at times, generating swings and misses at 84-to-87 miles per hour. Shows advanced feel for the slider with true 10-to-4 action and late bite at 75 miles per hour. Flashes a changeup at 76 miles per hour. Shows some control with developing command of strike zone. Excellent student.
