Joseph Massa is a 2022 SS/RHP/IF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Polk City, FL who attends Lakeland Senior. Large frame with an athletic, well-proportioned build and remaining room to fill. Ran a 6.99 second 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, worked out in the infield with comfortable and fluid actions, ranges well to either side, strong glove with comfortability receiving on the move, carries momentum into throws with good arm strength that creates carry on throws clocked up to 86 mph across. Also pitched at this event and showed solid fundamentals mechanically and filled the zone with a three-pitch mix that can project with added strength. Right-handed hitter, uses loose hands to whip the barrel head through the zone with good bat speed, gets and stays on plane well, generates some leverage with the hands and is able to create lift at contact to the middle and pull side. High IQ player who played with good intensity in the games and has great upside across all facets. Good student. Named to 2020 Florida Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
