Cooper Hay is a 2020 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends St. John's. Large frame with a slender and athletic build. Ran a 7.29 second 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher working exclusively from the stretch into a high leg lift. Some coil over the back side at the gather working to the plate with drop and drive actions. Lands slightly closed off creating cross fire down the mound. Clean arm circle in the back and into a three-quarter slot. Fastball creates some natural cut to the glove side at 79 MPH. Curveball has a 2-to-8 shape with solid spin and some sweeping action. Also worked out defensively as a secondary outfielder. Aggressive close to the ball with a funnel to the side working through the baseball well. Gets the ball out quickly into a three-quarter slot at 80 MPH. Lefthanded hitter with a spread and even stance to start. Large leg lift trigger for timing. Utilizes rotational lower half actions as well as a loose hand path through a lifted barrel plane. Best contact when getting on time and creating middle of the field contact. Good student as well.
