Matthew Champion is a 2024 3B/RHP/IF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Laguna Niguel, CA who attends JSerra Catholic. Medium height with longer arms for the size and very athletic look. Really easy mover on the mound with a fluid and on line delivery. Short, clean, and fast arm swing and the ball hops out of the hand with hop.Lot of horizontal movement and he works the bottom of the zone to both sides. The changeup mimics the heater movement and compliments it well with a good velocity split. Lots of confidence in the slider and he does a good job locating it to the glove side. The athleticism gives him good upside and he already has feel to move the ball around. Very good student and committed to LSU.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
