JD Petree is a 2021 RHP/3B with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Leawood, KS who attends Blue Valley North. Primary right-handed pitcher, good-sized frame with projection, certainly has a chance to get stronger. Arm plunges into a hook through the back, comes from a lower three-quarters slot. Good arm side life to the fastball, tends to play up in the zone. Shorter stride, just rocks and back and throws. Misdirected lower half with limited stability, will improve as he creates more consistency and repeatability within the operation. Shows slider with occasional tilt, will create more of a slurvy look at times. Projects for more velocity with mechanical improvements and better timing. Good student.
