Desmond Marsili is a 2023 C with a 5-8 132 lb. frame from Huntsville, AL who attends Huntsville. Medium, square shouldered frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to grow moving forward. Ran an 8.39 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, begins with a lower set behind the plate, will continue to refine footwork coming out of crouch, gains ground, receives the ball out front and works into a shorter arm action through the back, slight tail on throws but shows accuracy down to second base, arm strength will keep developing. Righthanded hitter, begin with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; slightly open stance and utilizes a toe tap trigger for timing. Loads hands back at start of swing, shows a full path through the zone. Linear swing with occasional uphill to plane, gets to front side early with weight shift, looks to pull the ball at point of contact.
