Julius Butler is a 2019 SS/2B with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Oceanside, CA who attends Rancho Buena Vista HS.Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 6.97 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, shows athletic actions moving towards the ball and fields it out front, funnels into a short and compact arm action, quick transfer out of glove, ball comes out clean and shows accuracy from a lower slot, tools project with added strength. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box; employs a simple trigger with front foot at the plate. Upper body dominant swing with a short path to the ball, finds the barrel well. Shows looseness to swing and a linear plane, creates line drive contact and remains compact, best contact to the middle of the field. Very good student.
