Sam Johnson is a 2019 OF/LHP with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Parker, CO who attends Legend HS. Medium and young frame with plenty of room to fill on the build. Ran a 7.56 second 60 yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, deliberate delivery begins with a high leg lift, could utilize his lower half more as he drive down the mound landing closed off to the plate, takes arm back to a compact arm action up to a high 3/4 arm slot, multiple moving components to delivery that add some deception. Fastball topped out at 73 mph flashing armside run at times, mixed in a curveball with 2-to-8 shape and developing spin. Secondary outfielder, comes to the ball with simple movements, effort to actions with average arm strength, topped out at 74 mph from the outfield. Righthanded hitter, sets up with a narrow base, takes a longer stride into contact, full swing with a high extended finish, swings with some intent, worked primarily to the middle of the field.
