Tyler Whitley is a 2006 right handed pitcher and shortstop with a 5'10" 160 pound frame from Locust Grove, Georgia who attends Jonesboro High School. He has a medium frame with good athleticism. Tyler has sound mechanics and good balance while throwing from a low 3/4 arm slot. He throws a lot of strikes and works both sides of the plate. He hides the ball very well and gets decent movement on his pitches. His fastball has good run and sink at 78-79 mph. His curveball at 70 mph has more of a slurve break to it. His change up at 67 mph has good late fade and is his best pitch. Whitley moves well in the infield and shows good balance fielding ground balls. Tyler is a crafty young pitcher who will get some outs.
