Matthew Snyder is a 2020 SS/RHP, C, 2B, 3B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Latham, NY who attends Shaker. Medium and lean frame with room to fill. Ran a 7.13 second 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, rounds the baseball well, fields it in a higher gathering position, takes a long arm action into throws with accuracy across the diamond, topped out at 80 mph in the infield. Secondary righthanded pitcher, takes his arm back to a long and extended arm action up to a ¾ arm slot, lands online to the plate, creates a tough angle to the plate while getting to both sides of the plate, will release on the side of the baseball to create some cutting action to fastball that reached 79 mph, mixed in a curveball that flashed sharpness and feel. Also took reps behind the plate, side saddle receiving out in front, quickness to arm with low effort actions and developing footwork, 2.08 second best pop time Lefthanded hitter, sets up with a slightly open stance, wrap barrel at load, linear actions through the hitting zone with looseness to his hands, quickness to hands with a middle to pull side approach. Good student.
