Devin Montalvo is a 2022 2B/SS with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Coram, NY who attends Longwood. Medium, broad shouldered frame with present strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 7.44 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front with two hands, sound funnel into a quicker arm stroke, works through the backhand, takes short steps moving towards the ball, can drop slot, accuracy will continue to develop on throws. Right-handed hitter, begins with a spread and slightly open stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a short leg lift trigger for timing. Upper body dominant swing, short and linear path through the zone, can implement additional lower half moving into swing. Worked to the middle of the field with some line drive contact, tends to pull off with front side at point of contact. Excellent student.
