Carter Zulanas is a 2020 OF/RHP with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Vestavia Hills, AL who attends Vestavia Hills. Athletic frame with long limbs and wiry strength. Primary outfielder with clean, fluid footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Reads hops well and funnels the baseball well. Clean exchanges and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws generated some on line carry to the bag topping at 81 mph. Left handed hitter with an upright, open stance and simple front side trigger. Stays on back side and works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Inside hand path to baseball with a naturally lifted barrel plane through extension. Displayed good balance throughout swing while employing a mid field approach. Flashed good barrel feel with the ability to work the other way as well. Also pitched utilizing a simple side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Tends to land on a closed from side while working to the plate. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball generated good downhill plane through the zone topping at 80 mph. Curveball had 12/6 shape with tighter spin and late downward depth in the upper 60's. Consistently changed speeds and located both offerings within the zone. Excellent student.
