Kai Cunningham is a 2022 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Atlanta, GA who attends The Lovett School. Young athletic build with plenty of physical projection remaining. 7.23 runner, is a polished defensive player who unfailingly makes the routine play and has the athleticism to make more difficult play, fields the ball confidently with soft quick hands and balanced footwork, works through the ball and gets it between hops well, quick exchange and release, very accurate game throws. Right handed hitter, has a quick short swing with middle of the field line drive contact, tends to drift into contact with limited lower half drive, should keep improving offensively as he gets stronger. Also pitched, easy low effort delivery with a short stride out front and a high 3/4's arm slot. Mid-70's fastball, mostly straight, soft downer curveball with some depth, threw strikes with both pitches from the same arm slot. Good student. Named to the Fall Atlantic Coast Top Prospect List.
