Cody Macias is a 2022 C/2B, 3B, OF with a 5-6 140 lb. frame from El Cajon, CA who attends Granite Hills. Medium, square shouldered build with some present strength to frame and additional room to grow and develop moving forward. Ran an 8.09 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, lower set behind the plate and receives the ball out front, compact actions, gets tall out of crouch but gains short ground with lower half, quickness to exchange and shows accuracy, arm strength will continue to develop. Fields the ball out front in the infield with a wide base, longer strides moving up the middle, shows balance on the charge, longer arm stroke through the back with quickness to exchange. Righthanded hitter, begins with a lower hand set close to body; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Shifts weight well through lower half and does a nice job of getting the barrel out front, shows a handle for barrel at point of contact. Creates extension, occasionally gets uphill with path but shows life off the barrel to his pull side. Very good student.
