William Soignier is a 2022 RHP/1B/OF with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Shreveport, LA who attends Loyola College Prep. Larger frame with long limbs and present strength. Primary right-handed pitcher with an elongated delivery, works from a higher three-quarters arm slot with efficient lower half mechanics. Fastball worked in the upper-70s with command to both sides of the plate, flashing occasional cut due to a shortened arm stroke. Mixed in developing breaking ball with high 11-to-5 shape and ability to land for strikes. Secondary first baseman with aggressive footwork into the fielding process, fairly quick turns and accurate throws recorded up to 75 miles per hour across the diamond. Slight tendency to bend at the waist, causing him to field the ball deep, does exhibit the ability to make adjustments with soft hands and clean glove work. Also took part in the outfield workout, showing a developing defensive skill set with accurate throws from an over-the-top slot. Recorded throws up to 77 miles per hour in outfield drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a wide, slightly open stance while using a simple leg lift trigger for timing. Middle-of-the field approach with developing barrel control and the potential for loud impact when on time. Slightly uphill swing plane with rotational lower half mechanics tend to cause some inconsistent bat-to-ball skills. Plenty of projection remaining and will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments. Excellent Student.
