Grabiel De Jesus Arias Morel is a 2022 SS with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Santo Domingo Este, NC who attends Cenapec. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength to frame; addtional room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.20 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well coming to the ball and looks to attack it, generates momentum through the ball ball and into release, clean actions to the backhand, shows comfort making the throw on the run and can drop slot with accuracy, quick transfer out of glove and will only continue to improve with strength. Righthanded hitter, begins with a spread stance in the box and a higher hand set; full shift with front foot moving into contact. Creates torque with upper half and utilizes an all fields approach. Full swing path through the zone, mostly linear with swing plane, creates separation and shows a handle for the barrel. Nice tools to follow moving forward. Good student. Named to 14u National Top Prospect List.
