Andre Cortes is a 2020 LHP/ with a 5-11 135 lb. frame from Trujillo Alto, PR who attends Cupeyville. Skinny and athletic frame with los of room to fill. Ran a 7.37 second 60 yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, starts wind up with a side step up to a high leg lift out away from his body, takes his arm back to a long arm action up to an extended ¾ arm slot, produces plenty of arm speed as he takes the ball back out of his glove, crossfire delivery getting out over his front foot, uses his lower half well to get down the mound. Fastball topped out at 74 mph with varying life, breaking ball has developing spin and feel to the pitch. Also took reps in the outfield, athletic actions moving quickly to the baseball, fields the baseball out in front and shuffles into his release, long arm action up to a 3/4 arm slot, topped out at 79 mph from the outfield. Lefthanded hitter, wide base with a high hand set and a high back elbow, small stride into swing, inside hand path to the baseball, needs to continue to get stronger to improve pop off of the barrel.
