Ronald Sawyer is a 2024 SS/2B with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Chesapeake, VA who attends Hickory. Young, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 6.85 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well on feet and shows a quick first step, moves well laterally to either side and shows range, soft hands out front, arm strength will continue to develop on throws. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger, gets it down on time and with balance. Long swing path through the zone, shows looseness to hands and handles the barrel well. Works the middle of the field and repeats swing well, shows a linear plane through the zone and stays through the ball.
