Nicholas Hess is a 2021 RHP/1B, OF with a 6-2 167 lb. frame from Colonial Heights, VA who attends Colonial Heights. Medium frame with slender, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.37 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher, compact arm stroke through the back, extends well out front, high three quarters slot release, fastball worked 76-81 mph with good life to the arm side, worked in curveball with gradual depth and changeup with solid fading action, did a fair job of throwing strikes. Hits from quiet set, leg lift trigger, torques hips well into swing, inside-out path, middle-opposite field approach, solid contact skills, projects well in terms of power. Worked out at first base, positions himself well, solid footwork around the bag, fields cleanly out front, turns well, clocked up to 76 mph on throws. Excellent student.
