Vincent Velez is a 2022 RHP/1B with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from Norwalk, CT who attends Norwalk. Long and lean projectable build with lots of room to get stronger. Has a full arm action on the mound with very good extension out front and plenty of downhill angle, still developing a consistent release point to both his pitches. Fastball worked up to 82 mph, got good sinking life when down in the zone and created some weak ground ball contact and swing/miss. Tends to get under his curveball at release. 7.48 runner in the sixty. Plays first base when not on the mound, has active feet and throws well from multiple arm slots. Left handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance, drops his back shoulder and creates some lift in his swing, showed strength in his hands and the ability to impact the ball when he was on time and squared up. Good student.
