Micah Canterbury is a 2023 C/RHP/3B with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Staunton, VA who attends Buffalo Gap. Medium, broad shouldered build with present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran an 8.78 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, receives the ball out front, wide set up behind the plate, gains subtle ground with lower half, will continue to refine footwork coming out of crouch, shows carry on throws from lower slot, 2.13 best pop time. Fields the ball out front in the infield with some bend at waist, upper body dominant release, longer strides coming in on the charge. Also pitched, steady tempo to delivery, full hands-over-head path working between a mid and lower three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 73 mph, occasionally mistimed on fastball release but shows a feel for breaking ball at 60 mph. Firm changeup at 68 mph, tunneled well with release. Righthanded hitter, begins with a narrow stance and a lower hand set and back elbow at the plate; loads hands back at start of swing. Upper body dominant swing, shows a long swing path through the zone with a linear plane; worked to pull side, occasionally gets downward with path.
