Lucas Ericson is a 2020 RHP/ with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Parker, CO who attends Legend. Athletic build with present strength and room to fill out. Ran a 7.28 second sixty-yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher. Employs a small side step to belt high leg lift staying slightly flexed at gather going to drop and drive actions down the mound landing online with the plate and falling off to the first base side at finish. Uses a stiffer compact arm action in the back going to a mid three quarter arm slot at release with good arm speed. Displayed good athleticism jumping off the mound to field his position and cover first base. Showed a heavy fastball through the zone up to 79 MPH complemented with a 11/5 curveball at 66 MPH and a fading change up at 73 MPH. Throws all three pitches for a strike in any count creating early soft contact and consistent swing and miss. Also worked out at first base. Showed low out front fielding actions with confident glove actions to the front hand and back hand side of the field. Flashed clean transfers into throws with good arm strength topping out at 75 MPH from first base. Left handed hitter. Employs an open stance with a toe tap trigger and high hand set. Uses a pull side approach looking to drive the ball to the pull side. Showed good barrel speed and control creating consistently driven line drives to the pull side. Great student.
