Tyler Ray is a 2019 LHP/OF with a 6-0 145 lb. frame from Denver, CO who attends George Washington. Medium and skinny frame, room to fill throughout frame. Ran a 7.32 second 60 yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, begins windup with a side step up to a high leg lift, full and tight arm action up to a high 3/4 arm slot, minimal effort to delivery throwing very easy, gets some drive off of his back leg nicely, developing arm speed through arm circle, front side is a nice lever to the throwing arm coming through, lands slightly closed coming down the mound, releases out over his front foot nicely. Fastball topped out at 68 mph with occasional sink, worked the corners with the offering and mainly to the armside, needs to develop a secondary pitch for added effectiveness. Secondary outfielder, fields the baseball cleanly to the side, comes through it nicely releasing with a short crow hop, loose and short arm action with average arm strength, topped out at 79 mph from the outfield. Lefthanded hitter, narrow and open stance, toe tap trigger, fluid stroke with developing bat speed, hands are direct to the ball, looks to elevate and pull the baseball, showed the tools to work with just needs to get stronger and work on timing. Outstanding student.
