Maddox Hutchins is a 2023 RHP/3B with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Joaquin, TX who attends Joaquin. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and longer limbs, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward and plenty of time to develop. Ran a 7.61 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, works exclusively out of the stretch, leg lift up to belt and gets tall on backside before some drop and drive down the mound with lower half. Low effort release with a full arm action and a lower, extended three-quarters arms slot. Strides open with strike foot, can continue to incorporate additional lower half into drive. Fastball topped out at 73 mph, shows sinking life to fastball at times and worked mostly to arm side, away from lefthanded hitters. Pitched to contact and flashed a curveball at 60 mph. Fields the ball out front in the infield, wide base, footwork to and through the ball will continue to develop, shorter arm action on throws across, works over front side. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and a lower back elbow at the plate. Takes a longer stride with lower half into contact, gets mistimed occasionally. Gets closed at start of swing, full swing path through the zone with some leverage to path, looks to elevate the ball at point of contact.
