Matt McGann is a 2020 C/RHP with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Sterling Heights, MI who attends Adlai Stevenson HS. Medium frame with athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 8.18 seconds. Even-based stance when hitting, really shifts weight forward into swing and will tend to drift onto front side, back foot often off the ground at contact, has strength at contact, middle-field approach with ability to drive the ball on a line, shows solid power to pull side. Worked out behind the plate, sits high in crouch, reaches to receive, full body into throws with mostly online footwork, clocked up to 72 mph on throws. Also pitched, side step into leg raise, compact arm stroke to tight three quarters slot, fastball worked 72-76 mph with flashes of sink, also showed curveball with depth. Good strike-thrower.
