Rex Olinger is a 2019 C/ with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Longmont, CO who attends Silver Creek. Medium and lean frame with plenty of athleticism. Ran a 7.55 second 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, squats deep at set position, comes up smoothly out of crouch, gains some ground into throws while creating plenty of carry on throw downs to second base, high level catch and throw ability with throws continually on target, 2.01 second best pop time. Righthanded hitter, slightly open stance with a high hand set and a high back elbow, leg lift trigger, strength present in swing with developing bat speed, hits the baseball out in front with good extension through contact, has some nice pop in his stroke especially to the pull side. Good student. Named to 2018 Rocky Mountain Showcase Top Prospect List.
