Richard Tejeda III is a 2023 C/1B with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Eastvale, CA who attends Orange Lutheran. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength on build, room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.55 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, higher set behind the plate during drills, receives the ball out front, shows quickness to transfer and release, likes to throw and showed it off during live action, can continue to refine overall footwork, repeats actions and showed receiving skill. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance, gets closed and spread moving into contact with weight shift, high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Barrel wrap at start, shows present bat speed through the zone, ball comes off well and shows strength in hands. Shows jump when on time with front foot, projects to unlock more strength with shorten launch. Excellent student.
