Garrett Helsel is a 2022 LHP/1B with a 6-4 235 lb. frame from Blacklick, OH who attends Gahanna Lincoln High School. A primary left-handed pitcher that is tall and strong, who ran an 8.39 in the sixty. The physical lefty has a repeatable delivery that is low effort. He uses a 3/4 release and the arm stroke is clean. Really pounds the zone with 3-pitches. His curveball is a change of pace and used it to get ahead while his slider got some swing and miss late. The secondary first baseman uses a glove flip to time ground balls and showed the ability to make routine plays around the bag. The left-handed hitter starts his hands low and loads them high with some rythym. He works his hands inside and looks to drive balls to the opposite field. Some future power potential for the 2-way player.
