2006 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Dylan Hines is a 2007 OF/RHP with a 5'11'', 160 lb. frame from Cedar Rapids IA, who attends Washington HS. He has a medium athletic build with square shoulders and some body life. Hines ran the 60 in 7.37 and threw 74 mph during outfield drills. He's a left handed hitter with a good fundamental swing. He stays inside the ball well and made consistent line drive contact up the middle of the field. Hines isn't very strong now and his bat speed with continue to improve with strength. Hines also took a turn on the mound and threw 75 mph with a 64 mph curveball. His velocity could immedately improve by getting his backside to come through with the ball when he throws. Hines has drop and drive pitching style and did a good job of locating his pitches. His curveball has some downer 2 plane break to it.
