Kevin Bolger is a 2007 2B/RHP with a 5'9'', 140 lb. frame from West Des Moines IA, who attends Valley HS. He has a slender, young body and limited physical strength. Bolger's 60 time wasn't fast but he has quick, fluid movements on the field and is light on his feet. He was 4.46 down to first base from the right side, which is more like a 7.0 - 7.1 type of runner. Bolger a good defensive second baseman who has strong fundamentals, circles the ball well and gets rid of it quickly. Offensively, Bolger is a front foot hitter who gets out quickly and takes his hands to the ball aggressively. He made solid middle of the field contact. Bolger looks like the type who works very hard at the game and has taken plenty of batting practice to maximize his hands strength and bat head skills. Bolger also pitched, throwing 77 mph from a high 3/4's release point, along with 65 mph slurve type breaking ball. He threw strikes aggressively and got quick outs. Bolger is also an excellent student.
