Bo Payne is a 2019 RHP/SS with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Lexington, MO who attends Lexington. Compact, athletic frame with a lean build. Primary right handed hitter with a compact side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather on back side and works in line to the plate. Clean arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters slot, will drop to a near side arm slot at times. Fastball flashed some sink with run to arm side in the mid to upper 60's. Curveball showed 11/5 shape with solid spin and good depth when staying on top of offering. Flashed the ability to add and subtract velocity with fastball to keep hitters off balance early in counts. Primarily looked to locate to the bottom quadrants of the zone and challenge hitters. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing good lateral range while moving to the baseball. Works underneath the baseball while funneling and displayed clean glove to hand exchanges. Showed developing arm strength across the infield with some accurate carry, topped at 72 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a wide, slightly open stance and simple heel lift trigger. Works to contact with rotational actions. Loose hand path to baseball and utilized a level, line drive barrel plane. Primarily looked to work the baseball to the middle of the field and pull side gap. Good student as well.
