Stephen D'Aquila is a 2020 C/1B/UT with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from McLean, VA who attends Langley High School. Large, broad shouldered build with present strength to frame, additional room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 8.01 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, lower set behind the plate, receives the ball out front, longer stride with lower half out of crouch, deep takeaway with a short arm action, overall arm strength will continue to develop with refined lower half mechanics, accurate throws to second base. Switch-hitter, shows best feel at present from the right side. Begins with a wide base and loads hands back at start of swing; uses front leg as loading trigger at the plate. Looks to impact the baseball out front with lift in swing path, short to the ball, shows strength off the barrel when squared. Similar approach from the left side, looks to lift at point of contact, swings with intent, occasionally gets mistimed with front side. Outstanding student.
